Shakira’s baby photo of her newborn son Milan gave Twitter their first look at the bouncing baby boy – well, sort of.
Shakira and Gerard Pique were anxious to share the big news with their fans via Twitter, but Milan’s dad wasn’t ready to give the world a look at his baby boy just yet. So he tweeted a teaser photo of Shakira’s baby that only shows Milan from the ankles down.
The picture of baby Milan’s adorable sneakers has fans wanting to see more, but they won’t get any more baby pics just yet. For now, they can just dwell on the fact that the newborn was rocking expensive kicks when he was only one day old.
The all white Nikes were custom made for Shakira’s baby boy and even have his name in different colors on the side.
“Milan’s feet,” the proud father tweeted excitedly along with the photo of his son’s fresh kicks.
The chubby little guy was born on January 22nd in Barcelona as the result of a scheduled C-section. He weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and supposedly has the same mouth as his dad according to Gerard. Of course, we can’t confirm that since the parents only shared pics of the baby boy’s feet.
The unnatural birth was a little disappointing for the parents, however, who wanted to share their birthday with their son. Both Shakira and Gerard were born on February 2 and were hoping to have their son born on the same day.
After a quick evaluation of their work schedules, however, the new mommy decided that waiting for February just wasn’t a good decision so they opted for the 22nd of January to have the baby instead.
They definitely put a lot of thought into when the baby would be born, so it’s no surprise that there is an elaborate explanation for the baby’s name as well.
“The name Milan means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Rome, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification,” the new The Voice coach said in a statement on her website.
She went on to reveal that both she and the new baby are in good health which means everything is in good shape for the Latina songstress to join the rest of the judges on The Voice during Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green’s hiatus from the show.
