Anne Hathaway, Rihanna Take Over ‘SNL’

Anne Hathaway gave another great Katie Holmes impression on Saturday Night Live, while Rihanna impressed the crowd by performing a few  hits from her 7th studio album “Unapologetic.”

It was Hathaway’s third time hosting the comedy show and her impression of Katie Holmes was so accurately hilarious that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her make a fourth appearance very soon.

During the sketch, the 30-year-old actress from Brooklyn put on her best impression of the mother of one appearing on the Ellen Degeneres Show to promote her new role in the Broadway play “Dead Accounts.”

“Great to be here, Ellen – it’s great to be anywhere right now… If you read Us Weekly, you know that Suri and I spend every waking moment at the zoo,” the Holmes impersonator stated jokingly during the fake interview.

After making several comments about how the paparazzi just can’t leave Katie and her daughter Suri alone during their outings, Hathaway admitted that “if they come near my daughter I will cut them,” suggesting that Tom Cruise’s ex is close to breaking if the cameramen don’t leave her alone.

This is the second time that the funny actress pulled a Katie Holmes impression, although the first time she claimed it wasn’t actually so much of a Holmes impression as much as just an impression of her character from Dawson’s Creek.

In 2010 she appeared to be Suri’s mom on while getting interviewed on “The Miley Cyrus Show.”

Anne nailed the Dawson Creek actress’s weird quirks like her awkward half smile and the way she bobs her head around as she talks, but even then the Dark Knight Rises actress didn’t admit to it actually being Tom’s ex-wife.

“I was a teenager when Dawson’s Creek was airing, and I was a pretty avid fan, so it just sort of came from that,” she explained to The Hollywood Reporter back in to 2010. “It wasn’t really Katie Holmes; it was more Joey Potter [Holmes’ character from Dawson’s Creek].”

While Hathaway returned for an impressive third time to the show, Rihanna made her fourth appearance on SNL and had tons of new music to show off but settled for only performing two.

The Bajan beauty has been busy in the studio ready to release her 7th studio album in 7 years and shared her new song “Diamonds” for the Saturday Night Live crowd.

Chris Brown’s ex dispelled any other doubts that she wasn’t a good singer and only relied on theatrics to perform because this time she simply stood in front of the mic and belted out the touching tune while a few computer generated graphics played in the background.

The usually half naked singer was even covered up this time, using nothing but her voice to keep the crowd entertained.

It was the first time the “We Found Love” songstress performed the song on television, as she then went on to give SNL the first listen to her new song “Stay.”

The song appeared to be another Chris Brown inspired tune as the 24-year-old sung, “Funny how you’re the broken one but I’m the only one who needed saving.”

Earlier this week, RiRi also previewed the entire album with media and label executives at her mentor Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in NYC.
