Nicki Minaj Mariah Carey Feud Gets Real, Beef Spills To Twitter

Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to defend herself after Mariah Carey told Barbara Walters that the Pink Friday rapper threatened to kill her.

According to Carey, it takes “a bit longer for a feud” to start, but war, on the other hand, can happen at any given moment.

Despite days and days of constant denial of any feud between each other, the truth has finally come out after Minaj exploded on the American Idol set, delivering an explicative filled rant that signaled the official start of the Idol judge war.

“I told them, I’m not f—ing putting up with her f—ing highness over there,” Minaj was recorded saying in reference to the “Shake It Off” crooner.

Nick Cannon’s wife reportedly told Barbara Walters that she was so intimidated by the rapper’s cruel words that she felt forced to hire extra security.

Needless to say, Nicki was less than impressed with Carey’s decision.

“I don’t call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet,” the “Pound the Alarm” rapper tweeted in her own defense. “Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave.”

The wig loving songstress also addresses rumors that she threatened to shoot the R&B butterfly.

“Hey yAll. Lets just say nick said smthn about a gun. Ppl will believe it cuz she’s a black rapper. Lmao. I’ll then hit up Barbara and milk it,” she tweeted, obviously amused by the whole situation.

“Ironically, no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz,” Nicki added.

Although it seems as if nobody else believes the curvaceous rapper threatened the “We Belong Together” singer’s life, she defended her own decision by telling Walters that the “Starships” crooner is “unpredictable” and she “can’t take a chance.”

She went on to report that she “doesn’t feel comfortable emotionally” around her fellow co-judge.

Idol producers had a meeting with the divas during which the hip hop Barbie told the mother of two, “I love you but we might fight again.”

The 42-year-old singer coolly responded, “No, we will not.”

Fans are still debating over whether or not the feud is real or just a publicity stunt, but Mariah’s husband Nick Cannon already has his mind made up.

“I’m kind of disappointed in Fox because they’re taking away from the quality of what Idol is,” the father of the twins stated after accusing Fox of leaking the “catfight” footage just to boost ratings. “This is about people accomplishing their dreams and experts guiding these young people to do what they’ve done.”

The America’s Got Talent host was quick to scold the Idol producers, but also eager to give his wife a pat on the back.

Nick claims that his wife has remained unmoved by the drama (guess he doesn’t know about the added security yet) and states that his wife is the “strongest and classiest woman” he has ever met.

“She signed up to do a job to help young people accomplish their dreams and this is like a sidebar. I hope that’s not what this show becomes about – the catfights,” he added.

Whether the feud was constructed by Idol producers or not, its clear that the fight is a publicity stunt for someone although it is unclear who.

The “Vision of Love” crooner definitely seemed to take things to the next level by calling in extra security and now her claim that Minaj threatened to shoot her has no backing whatsoever.

On the other hand, taking to Twitter to call out Monroe and Moroccan’s mommy also seemed to be a call for attention, not to mention the vulgar rant on set that has gotten the Barb tons of free publicity.

As much as drama sells, American Idol probably would be one of the last shows to benefit from having two judges wanted to rip each other’s heads off.

So for this publicity stunt, perhaps it should be less blame on Fox – more blame on the bickering divas.

As the show presses forward this certainly doesn’t seem to be the end of the Barbie Vs. Butterfly American Idol war.

In other Minaj related news, the reigning Queen of rap isn’t letting the beef with Carey distract her from work. Lil Wayne’s mentee just released a playful screenshot from her video for the “The Boys.”

The pop singer/rap star is dressed in her usual brightly colored attire and it seems like her co-judge is the last thing on her mind.
