Sofia Vergara, Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria may have grabbed the top three spots respectively on Forbes best-paid TV actresses list with reality star Bethenny Frankel landing at no. 4 with a reported $12 million in earnings, but saving her marriage is more important.
Bethenny made her debut on Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City making considerably less than she is now. Fast forward a couple years later and Skinnygirl Margarita is born, sold and expanded, a best selling novel on the New York Times list, several seasons of Bethenny Ever After and a successful six-week test run of her own talk show Bethenny on Fox. Phew!
In the midst of her mind blowing success we forgot to mention Bethenny also got married to Jason Hoppy and they had a daughter named Bryn. Divorce rumors however quickly followed the couple and the very success she craved for was tearing her marriage apart.
In a candid interview with People the 39-year old entreprenuer revealed her marriage hit rock bottom,
“I want to say it’s been amazing, but it hasn’t been that way at all. Our relationship has definitely been tested. It doesn’t come easy for us. Sometimes you feel like, ‘Oh God, are we going to make it?”
She went on to explain: “We hit bottom … [but] we came out the other side. I’ve often thought if I didn’t make my marriage work, I would have failed at my one true shot at happiness.”
Bethenny has come to realize what truly makes her happy. “My business doesn’t keep me warm at night,” she said. “I want to be with Jason. We are going to make this work. No matter what.”
It looks like Bethenny may have finally found a balance. After the huge success of Bethenny and the finale season of Bethenny Ever After she plans to take a 3 month break!
“I’m taking a two month hiatus. Lock down. This is the last thing that I am doing. I have one little thing that I’m doing in August that I have to do for two hours but besides that this is the last thing that I’m doing. I’m done.”
We’re happy that despite Bethenny’s insane success she knows what truly matters….family.
