Beyonce Enjoys White Lace Curtains And Roses Backstage

Beyonce Knowles is known for her “Sasha Fierce” onstage persona but it appears her backstage presence shows a more calm side to the performer. Luke James, the opening act for the “Love On Top” singer for her first show at Atlantic City Revel since the birth of she and Jay-Z’s four-month daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, sheds a little light on Bey’s backstage persona.

“Beyoncé made it comfortable for me and my crew,” the R&B newcomer signed to Island Def Jam said. “She’s just really cool and down-to-earth.”

Luke obviously got a chance to visit the superstar’s dressing room before either hit the stage: “Beyoncé stays in a white-lace room. It’s very Zen,” Luke told Life & Style magazine. “The walls have white lace curtains, and there are white roses, too. It’s beautiful and very relaxing.”

Meanwhile the fixation of the Carters’ little girl name won’t go away. Remember when the “Halo” singer gave birth in January and Blue’s name not only got its own Twitter handle, but the micro-blogging site went berserk trying to decode the spelling and how the Illumanti was matter-of-factly considered in the moniker?

Welp, perhaps all can rest easy. While the 30-year-old first-time mommy hasn’t said verbatim why the now-trademarked name was chosen, she did provide enough hints to quiet that trite demonic chitchat.

Bey posted an excerpt from author Rebecca Solnit’s 2005 novel, A Field Guide to Getting Lost, on her Tumblr Wednesday. In-part it reads: “The world is blue at its edges and in its depths. This blue is the light that got lost. Light at the end blue end of the spectrum does not travel the whole distance from the sun to us. It disperses among the molecules of the air, it scatters in the water. Water is colorless, shallow water appears to be the color of whatever lies underneath it, but deep water is full of this scattered light, the purer the water the deeper the blue…”

A beautiful ode to blue, either to her daughter or the color, right?

Some seem to not deny the significances of the name to both parents. Jay’s favorite color is blue and has released three “Blueprint” albums. And the “Ivy” references the Roman numeral (IV) which is known to be important to the couple: Beyonce’s birthday is Sept. 4, Jay-Z’s is Dec. 4, they were married on April 4, 2008, and her latest album is entitled 4.
