LaLa Anthony Addresses Carmelo Cheating Rumors And Talks Marriage

LaLa Anthony is doing her thing with her own makeup line, Motives for La La, her reality show “La La’s Full Court Life”, movie and television appearances, and as a producer. As it goes, the more limelight, the more controversy comes with the territory.

And La La’s marriage to NBA New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is feeling the brunt of notoriety early on. Though the couple have been together for eight years and have a five-year-old son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, the pair is facing more and more questions about Melo’s wandering eye…or not.

Most poignantly, an alleged 19-year-old jump off, Asia Monroe, has surfaced claiming Carmelo approached her via Twitter and had a fling for two months, but had his wife had a “leash” on him, then the “affair” would have never occurred. Sigh.

While La La doesn’t address the 15-minute fame seeker, the “first lady of New York” does dabble in her marriage and the possible woes of being a basketball wife.

“I’ve been with the same man for eight years. Do you know what that’s like?”

Did she have any reservations about her husband cheating before the probing questions on her reality show?

“When you hear the same question over and over again about why do you have an attractive girl working for your man. I’m like, why is everyone saying this? Am I under a rock?”

“I’m not an insecure person. I’m very secure in my relationship.”

Is respectful cheating okay?

“Not in my marriage. There’s none of that (passes to have sex). There’s no open relationship. There’s none of that going on in my marriage.”

“I wouldn’t be with someone if he was cheating on me. I’m not okay with that. There’s no part of me that’s okay with that. Now, I don’t go looking for things, but if I was to find out, I would deal with it.”

“But I trust my husband.”

No doubt that trust was built overtime as LaLa shared with Rolling Out magazine why her engagement lasted for several years.

“Every woman should figure out what works best for your relationship. For me, it was not about waiting for a ring, my husband and I were taking our time, we’ve been together for eight years, and you’ve got to know what’s best for your own relationship.”

“You’ve got to figure out what works best for you. What works for me, might not work for you and vice versa.”

“As a woman you know when it feels right, and when it doesn’t, and you have to follow your intuition on that.”
