Lady Gaga Fires Laurieann Gibson; Kim Kardashian Lies In Interview

Update-Lady Gaga fires choreographer Laurieann Gibson while Kim Kardashian tells a big white lie in Marie Claire magazine about her marriage life

Lady Gaga and the choreographer who helped shape the international superstar’s onstage persona and most celebrated performances, have parted ways. Insiders cite “creative differences” and suggest that Gibson’s rising TV fame and a Twitter tirade with Gaga’s fans may have led to the break-up.

The Hollywood Reporter, which confirmed the spit, said the creative differences began behind the scenes, most notably during Gaga’s “Judas” video, which featured strong religious overtones that many found offensive. The images, namely an upside down cross, made Gibson uncomfortable enough to say, “Listen, I don’t want lightening to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I’m not going there.” In the end they found a happy medium.

Putting further strain on the relationship was Gibson’s new found TV celeb status; in the past year, she’s landed a key role in the Ryan Seacrest-produced E! show, The Dance Scene, and starred in her own dance contest show, BET’s Born To Dance. Gaga, who keeps her professional circle small, allegedly took issue with Gibson’s desires to be out front. Said an MTV journalist:

“Look, I love Laurieann, and as a journalist, she’s an interviewer’s dream, because you’d catch her and she’d always just say what was going on. Laurieann would just say it. She would give you that perfect sound bite. She tended to be a little bit loose-lipped. But on the other hand, I can see why that maybe ruffled Gaga’s feathers, because Gaga’s all about the performance piece and not giving away too much. Laurieann really liked to take credit–not that that was bad, [and] maybe it was due, but maybe Gaga didn’t want everyone knowing that. In the end, I do tend to think it was something to do with creative differences.”

The split comes as a shock to the industry as Gibson has been a part of Gaga’s team since she signed with Interscope Records in 2007. It was a relationship made in Heaven, Gibson said of her work with Gaga back then. “I met one brilliant artist that the world had no idea existed,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “The hypocrisies of the industry were forcing her to act one way. She tells people that I fought for her, and I fought to protect her gift because it’s rare. She’s a fearless, transparent entertainer… we’re colorful, we’re dramatic, we were born this way.”

Still, Gaga’s fans, whom she affectionately refers to as “Little Monsters” are praising the unexpected split; some never forgave Gibson for her Twitter tirade over a scrapped treatment for Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” video, in which the choreographer tweeted, “listen u disrespectful f**k they had an issue on set I don’t lie!!!!!” and “creative Changes happen always educate ignorant Monster’s!!!”

All good things come to an end; perhaps the split was inevitable. Time will tell where Gibson will go from here and whether her absence will be felt on Lady Gaga’s career. It is rumored that Gibson’s number 2 man Richard Jackson is now Gaga’s lead choreographer.

While Laurieann may be looking for a new job Kim Kardashian is trying to find a bigger rock to hide under. Just 72 days into her marriage to Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce. After the initial shock settled in, Kim released scattered statements and said a few words in interviews. The overall gist was she knew the marriage was not going to work but she was overcome by the media attention and didn’t want to disappoint her fans. So she followed her heart and filed for divorce. Not surprisingly, just weeks after her wedding, Kim completed an interview with Marie Claire magazine for its December issue where she can’t stop gushing about just how perfect her marriage is. Oh my..how things do change. Here are some snippets below:

“It’s fun to have a partner who understands your life and lets you be you. I feel like where we’re at right now is the best time in my life,” she said. “I’m not worried about him at all,” she added. “We have a lot of trust, and I don’t think either of us would do anything to break that. It makes life so easy. He’s such a good guy; he is so down-to-earth, and it’s such a reality check. He is a normal guy, and I just want to chill out and be normal and not get glammed up all the time. He gets it. Sometimes my life can be really intimidating for people, but he allows me to work and do what I’ve gotta do.”

If that wasn’t enough Kim stated she learned soo much from her first failed marriage to Damon Thomas that her second would be the complete opposite. “I learned how to cook and do a lot of marital things. It definitely taught me what being a wife is all about. I think it means taking care of each other’s needs and being there for someone unconditionally.”

It’s safe to say Kim Kardashian doesn’t know the meaning of unconditional. Hopefully the third time – you know there will be one – will be the charm.
