Update-Basketball Wives executive producer Shaunie O’Neal has all but confirmed that Meeka Claxton has been fired from the Basketball Wives franchise. Meeka quickly became the target on Basketball Wives as she tried in earnest to pick a side between the popular/fake girls and the real girls.
In the end Meeka ended up with neither. Her lawsuit against Tami Roman for assault remains on the table and her relationships are all but over with the other basketball wives. The reunion only confirmed the fact that the “popular” girls didn’t want Meeka in their circle – this includes you to Shaunie.
In the end, Meeka got the boot. Shaunie stated in her interview below that paperwork wise Meeka is out the door. She further stated that Meeka just didn’t work with anybody. And Tami being the “fan favorite” there was no upside in keeping Meeka around. Perhaps Meeka can work with the producers to launch a New York spin off as Gloria Govan did with Basketball Wives LA.
